What other travelers are saying about Adashino Nenbutsu-ji Temple
This is something really special in Kyoto, beautiful, spiritual and peaceful and barely any crowds. So glad I came here after spending a bit of time researching a place away from the crazy places full of tourists. Great little bamboo forest and a really lovely unique temple. Highly recommend.

We didn't want the crowds of Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, so we checked out this place. After a lovely 25-minute walk from the station, we arrived at Adashino Nenbutusji Temple a few minutes after 9, and there was next to no people here.
We checked out the short Bamboo forest path, got our photos, and then checked out the grounds.
On our way back to the station, 9:30 quite a fair few people were on their way up to visit, so definitely go early!
Pros
🌟 Much quieter than Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
🌟 It's beautiful
🌟 nice walk through quiete neighbourhoods

Such a hidden gem, tucked away from the crowded tourist spots. The tranquil scenery and sacred atmosphere offer a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
After exploring the temple and its bamboo path, take a peaceful stroll into town and enjoy some traditional Japanese sweets—just dwell in the moment.
Note: Please be mindful not to take photos in certain areas of the temple (there are signs to guide you).
Simply breathtaking and serine temple on the periphery of Arashiyama bamboo forest (25 min walk). You will walk past some beautiful houses and peaceful narrow streets to get there.
Beautiful temple with golden buddha, 8000 statues for those buried without tombstones, a modern-day cemetery and a bamboo forest. Beautiful, spiritual place.
