What other travelers are saying about Takato Joshi Park (Takato Castle Ruins Park)
We visited Takato Joshi Park on April 9, and the atmosphere felt like a scene from a fairytale.
The cherry trees weren’t yet in full bloom, but the experience was still absolutely breathtaking.
We arrived around 9:00 AM, and by then, the parking lots closest to the entrance were already full.
There were quite a few people in the park, but thanks to the typical Japanese courtesy and patience, everyone managed to get their perfect photo moment.
Parking fee: ¥1,000

Even without peak blossoms, the delicate pink haze and gentle light made it a day to remember. If you’re in Japan during sakura season — don’t miss it! A must-see spot for cherry blossom lovers. 🌸⛩️✨📸
I visited Takato Castle Ruins Park on 11th April, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The vibrant Takato-kohigan-zakura created a breathtaking canopy, making it a truly unforgettable hanami experience.

Given that I used to live in Matsumoto, I might be biased but this is easily top 3 best sakura viewing places across Japan, if not the No 1!
It's one of the best Cherry Blossoms places that I have visited . Although it is drizzling on the day of my visit , the full bloom Cherry blossom trees put a big smile on my face . Do take note that the entrance fee is 600 yen for adults and parking is 1000 yen . Highly recommended .
