Unusual
Taken as part of our guided tour of Japan.
Ropeway efficient, and although busy, we didn't have to wait very long to get up the mountain.
Once there, the landscape is like nothing we've seen before - the sulphur vents and smell around amazing. Also brilliant views of Mount Fuji
Facilities fine - shops/souvenirs; food; droinks.
Unusual and worth visiting.
We descended the other side of the mountain to go to Lake Ashinoko, and whilst busier, didn't have too long a wait, and nice place to eat at the other end.
Panoramic
You go up by cable car in a few minutes, but the hike is heavily conditioned by the weather that can change within a few minutes, for you must be lucky to find a sky with few clouds that allow beautiful views. At the top is a path leading to a temple with sweeping views of the coastal towns
